How Did You Apply?
I heard about this firm from my parents and had applied to this firm by sending my CV and Cover Letter via mail. They took an interview before appointing me as their intern. They were quick in replies which were great first impressions.
First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
The internship due to this pandemic situation converted into a virtually full-time internship, and on my first day my Mentor Mrs Suniti Kaur Ma’am introduced me to the team and asked me about my whereabouts and what all subjects I had covered so that she could give me work accordingly. Suniti Ma’am and other team members were very helpful in providing me with guidance.
The work assigned to me for the period of 1 month was:
- Due Diligence Checklist and Analysis in respect of warehouses at certain locations in India.
- Research in relation to gas distribution in India.
- Study of issues relating to product liability insurance.
- Research on the overlap between PNGRB and Competition Commission Jurisdiction.
- Case Laws on Section 73 of the Indian Contract Act.
- Research on the Duty of Care of a healthcare services aggregator.
Even though the internship was a virtual one, my mentors were very friendly and encouraged me for my good work. One of the best things I liked about the firm was, there was a 10 am meet daily to understand and have better communication between the team members. Maam used to daily assign us new work and also teach us as she taught me what is due diligence and why do we do due diligence?
In conclusion, I would love to say, Alaya Legal is a great firm and you will learn a lot from the firm.
