First Day Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure
On my first day, I reported to Mr. B.N.Dubey Sir, he is associate to Ma’am and handles most of the work. As vacations were going on, we were asked to report at office only. Sir, then introduced us to most of the associates and also to Ma’am. Ma’am took our introduction and assigned us our main tasks.
Infrastructure is nice and decent, it can accommodate 4 to 5 interns at a time.
Ma’am has distributed our tasks according to the duration of our internship. Also, we got the chance to go to supreme court (vacation bench) and hear the matters.
In the first week, we learned to make case briefs (Criminal as well as Civil) and read the criminal as well as civil files.
In our Second week, We learned how to make counter affidavits of Special Leave petitions (Criminal) as well how to draft a special leave petition and writ petitions which were checked by the associates working under Ma’am.
In our third week, we were assigned to research and make case notes on cases related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. We were supposed to submit the case notes via email.
Work Environment and People
The work environment is very positive that it motivates you to do more and more work. You can learn a lot in this internship because the people out there are happily ready to teach you. Internship during vacation is more productive than the the internship you do when the courts are open because the Advocates are so busy that they normally don’t have time to teach you.
Here, The Associates and the other office staff were very humble and friendly.
The Best things other than the things above mentioned is Swarupama Ma’am is always ready to help you. Bookshelf in her office is full of books which a law student must read. You can take permission and read those books.
There are no bad things as such.
One can learn a lot from this Internship when he/she is passionate about it. You can meet new people, make new contacts. One thing that anyone should learn from Swarupama Ma’am is that how humble and calm one person should be irrespective of anything that you are.
