The duration of my internship in the firm was from 15th November to 10th December, 2017.

6 Days a week.

Timings were: 9:30 A.M. to 9 P.M.

First Impression, First Day Formalities

The office is located at A-71, New Friends Colony, New Delhi. My reporting time for the first day was 11:00 A.M. so I reached the office before time at 10:30 A.M. There I was joined by one of my friend and where we got to know a little bit about the firm. Later on Sir called me with a co-intern in his office and we had the introduction thing.

Sir said he treats his interns and associates alike and indeed he did so.

Thereafter, I was told to assist Sir in a Criminal case of Supreme Court. My job was to prepare legal notices and do other legal work for this particular project.

My first day at work was quite impressive because it was not my first experience working in a litigation firm.

Main Tasks

The main task was to do research on various topics, visit courts along with sir, drafting work, assist Associates in various works provided to them. All the interns were exposed to Criminal Cases, Consumer Cases, Matrimonial Cases, PILs, Land Dispute Cases, and got to learn about the various aspects revolving around litigation.

During this internship I also visited the Honble Supreme Court Of India, Delhi high Court, Saket District Court, Tees hazari District Court.

Work Environment and People

The work environment was very calm and supportive. All the Associates and interns are meant to work together. The Associates were, very friendly, helpful, cooperative and made the interns very comfortable and cheerful.

There is separate area for Associates and interns to carry out their work. The Associates and interns are provided with access of Manupatra and SCC Online for research of cases. It was compulsory to be in lawyer’s Uniform in the office.

Best Things

I got to learn a lot about litigation and the basics of it and also received stipend for that.

Bad Things

If you are lethargic then you should avoid this internship because they need your sincere efforts.

Biggest Lessons

Change cannot and will not happen overnight. But the intent to evolve will produce opportunities for growth.
