Mr Ashwani K Dubey practises in the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, National Green Tribunal, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission & other Tribunals/ Courts of Delhi.

The office space is quite good with computers and WiFi only for work purposes. The first day I went to the office, sir had gone to the court. After he came back, I was told about the work I have to do during the course of my internship. He told me to reach the National Green Tribunal the next day for a case hearing.

Main tasks

Main tasks included mostly the research work pertaining to Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law, etc and reading case files and preparing briefs. One has to approach him personally to get work.

There were many interesting cases regarding Cheating, Fraud, Dishonour of a cheque, Criminal cases of Rape, and cases related to the Negotiable Instruments Act, Family law, etc.

Apart from the research work, I attended the hearings in the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, National Green Tribunal, National Company Law Tribunal, Tees Hazari Court, Delhi. Where I got the opportunity to attend the court proceedings of cases like SC/ST reservation where I got the opportunity to see Indira Jaising, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and K.K. Venugopal, Attorney General of India arguing and got the opportunity to interact with both of them.

I also got an opportunity to observe Mr Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Singhvi, P. Chidambaram and Salman Khurshid arguing in the court.

I got the opportunity to observe the court proceedings in the National Green Tribunal, there were heated arguments during the court proceedings which I enjoyed the most.

Then I also witnessed the courtroom proceedings in the Delhi High Court, National Company Law Tribunal and Tees Hazari Court.

I got to watch the mediation proceedings in the Delhi High Court.

I assisted sir in preparation for List of Dates and Synopsis, Petitions, and Drafting of matters.

Work environment

The work environment is good. The work environment is really positive. The staff is nice and friendly.

Best things

The only best thing during the Internship was observing the courtroom proceedings in the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High court, other Courts and Tribunals and Drafting Petitions.

Feeling happy that I am the first student from my university to intern in the Apex court in 2nd Semester. Before this I have interned in the District & Sessions Court, Pathankot and have shared my Internship experience on Lawctopus.
