Why learn about Negotiation, Mediation & Conciliation?

It is increasingly becoming important in legal education (BCI has recently mandated Mediation & Conciliation as a mandatory subject for all LLB students) to prepare lawyers & law students for the rising use of ADR. Foreign jurisdictions have already seen a spike in ADR being adopted as the default conflict resolution mechanism & it is gaining momentum in India. Post-COVID era is predicted to rely heavily on ADR too.
