RESULTS: 3rd Amity International Moot Court Competition 2015

Amity Law School – Centre II, successfully hosted the 3rd Amity International Moot Court Competition 2015 on Environmental Law, Sponsored by SAIL (Steel Authority Of India) from 12th – 14th March, 2015.

The inaugural ceremony was held on 12th march and 28 leading law schools across the country participated in the event.

On March 13th, the teams faced the two preliminary rounds and the quarter finals  rounds.

On   March 14th, Semi finals  and final rounds happened after the meticulous scrutiny of the participating teams.

The final rounds were judged by the eminent legal luminaries namely, Justice A.K Patnaik, Justice Satish Sharma, Rhodney Ryder, Adv. R.S Goswami and Adv. Mehndiratta.

The finals were followed by the Valedictory Ceremony which was presided   by Prof.(Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, Vice-Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Prof. (Dr). U.P Sinha, VC, Central University, Haryana,  Adv. Collin Gonsalvis, Director, Human Rights and Law Network (HRLN), Senior Advocate, Supreme Court.

The Results:

a. The BEST MEMORIAL was bagged by NLU, Odhisha with a trophy, cash prize and other prizes worth Rs. 27,000.

b. The BEST ADVOCATE was bagged by Dia Dasgupta also from NLU, Odhisha, and 2nd BEST ADVOCATE was bagged by Vishakha Chaudhary, GNLU with a trophy, cash prize and prizes worth Rs. 27,000 each.

c. The BEST RESEARCHER was won by Vidhi K Tiwari, NLU, Odisha and was felicitated with a cash prize and other prizes worth Rs. 49,500

d. Government Law College, Mumbai, bagged the 2nd RUNNERS UP trophy, and the prizes worth Rs. 1,57,500

e. The RUNNERS UP trophy was won by GNLU, with a cash prize of Rs. 9000 and other prizes total amounting to Rs. 1,62,500

f. NLU, Odisha was adjudged as the BEST TEAM and held the glittering trophy with the cash prize of Rs.12,000 and other prizes including the six months subscription from Manupatra and one year subscription from SCC Online, chocolates, wall clocks, books to each participants, amounting to Rs.1,67,500.

The total prizes worth Rs,6,18,000 were given to the winning participants!
