How big was the office? Team strength?
I actually interned under Litigation partner and he had a team of 6 associates.
Application procedure. Internship contact details.
Send a mail to [email protected] , all internship mails are coordinated by her.
She is the secretary to the HR partner, Bindi Dave.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
I booked a place which was equivalent to a boys hostel bang opposite Marine Lines Station. Name of the place was SL Villas. The contact is available on Justdial.com.
The place was near to the Marine Drive. And when you live near Marine drive in Mumbai, you enjoy a lot.
First impression. First day, formalities etc. –
I was excited on the first day of my internship. Although, it took a lot of waiting, still I was quite happy to be an internee of Wadia and Associates.
Finally all the interns was asked their preferences of either corporate, real estate or litigation and drafted in accordingly.
Most of the tasks at my Wadia Ghandy Mumbai internship were research oriented and preparing a list of documents and summaries of new cases which came in.
I got a lot of opportunity to sit in client conferences and conferences with other senior lawyers to whom the cases were allotted to.
Other than that I did, research work and work on cases. We were asked to report each and every minutes of our progress in our report diary on daily basis.
Work environment, people
People at Wadia Ghandy, Mumbai are great and made me feel at ease the very first day. They did get a bit rattled initially when a continuously pestered them and ask them for work.
But I realized the same later and just made my availability known to them so they could give me work whenever they had any.
Since I was the only intern in the team, I had the opportunity of working with all the 6 associates. So towards the end I was never free, as at least one of them had some work for me.
Lunch was free for all interns and was served in the 2nd floor canteen itself.
Fully air conditioned office and had my own station (Laptop and desk).
Work hours were busy but did not extend till late hours in the night. General timings were like from 10:00 in the morning to 7:30 in the night.
The bad things were not with the office but with the atmosphere of Delhi.
In the beginning I got a little bit ill because of the weather.
It’s not each to become accustomed to the weather of Mumbai at a go, and it takes time.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
Military canteen is absolutely amazing do not miss.
The Wadia Ghandy office is along a walking market and fun places close by.
The flora fountain and the marine drive is a just long walk or short drive away. Do not miss the same.
Not exactly a stipend but a gift card from WESTSIDE worth Rs.1500/- but considering they gave free lunch I saved a lot on food.
Anything else you’d like to tell –
You might want to try working with them more than once to get a hang of the job and them recognizing your potential.
One month is too less for you to get a lot of favourable work in the litigation team.
