Faculty and Academics at UPES

The classes are typically 9-5, the faculty is decent. It’s a mixed crowd with some exceptionally great teachers and others below average.

The course structure is very comfortable and good, it is sensible because it runs step by step. The evaluation methodology recently changed for the immediate junior batch, but our evaluation system had a serious issue with marks for attendance. For people involved in external activities, internals go down the gutter.

Student Culture and Activities

Full-fledged cultural atmosphere in the College of Legal Studies, but overall the College lacks a College like atmosphere.

I feel the fest is not worth attending.

Location

The college is located up the valley.

The surroundings are absolutely beautiful.

The nearest market area is Prem Nagar, just 9 km below the College.

It takes about 45 min from public transport.

5 Hotspots: Ankit Dhaba, Mayank Restaurant, Tomar Restaurant, Emotions, and Krrust Burger Bar (located within 1.5 km to the college)

Administration and Fees

The fee is a lot, and absolutely out of sync with the facilities provided.

Curfew timings:

6:30- Winters

7:30- Summers

Good things at UPES

The best thing is the specializations offered to us.

Bad things at UPES

The worst part is the rigid mentality of the College, and presence of the Directorate or Student Affairs which does not let the girls in the College wear skirts even to college fests or events.

They don’t consider us as one of their own.

Tell us about the infrastructure of your college

The college has a decent infrastructure, with another campus for law coming up just 3 km below the current one.

It is located in a beautiful place, the classrooms are decent; the academic block is like that of any other law school.

The campus hostels are sick, with harsh rules. It is advised that you stay outside the campus, if you intend to read in this college. Preferably in the city. This is so because the life in the city is much more accessible and comfortable. It is also, less monotonous, no use living 9 km up the valley.

The college has a cafeteria, and a three level food court. The library is below average, with a serious lack of books.
