School of Law, Christ University’s Model United Nations SLCUMUN [Jan 30-Feb 1]

We are both honoured and excited to bring to you the third edition of SLCUMUN, the annual International Model United Nations held at School of Law, Christ University, Bengaluru, between January 30 and February 1, 2015 hosted in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan.

The first chapter of the MUN in 2013 was not only international, but also the first ever MUN in India to simulate the International Court of Arbitration.

The second chapter maintained its international character while simulating 6 different bodies under the UN and saw participation from all over India and from Bahrain, Taiwan, China and Russia. This year, we will be simulating the General Assembly, Security Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Trusteeship Council and the World Trade Organization.

SLCUMUN allows participants the opportunity to deliberate and discuss real matters of international concern, and attempt to arrive at practical solutions.

SLCUMUN 2015 guarantees exemplary quality debate through the carefully selected agendas set for each committee, as well as through interaction with participants from diverse walks of life.

It fosters the ability of the participants to understand and appreciate the nuances of international diplomacy. Participant feedback from the first and second chapters of the MUN lauded not only the academic quality of the conference, but also the organization and hospitality.

SLCUMUN 2015 promises to be an event of academic enrichment, and equally important, a platform for the youth of the generation to come forward and take a stand on real world problems. Thus, the MUN is more than just healthy debate, as it also seeks to inspire participants to take action to effect the change they want to see.
