Application Process

In order to apply , you will have to be ready prior to 3-4 months of your internship due to the rush of applicants who start applying even before you think of.

You have to mail your CV.

Duration

22nd November, 2013 – 21st December, 2013

First Day

On the very first day of your internship, you are introduced with the staff of RLEK and the interns who are already there.

You have to fill up the form mentioning your details such Name, Phone No., Father’s Name etc.

Make sure, you have at least two passport size photographs with you.

Moreover, you need to carry a bonafide certificate from your University or College.

Infrastructure of the Organization would make you feel as if you are at home.

The most beautiful thing about the organisation is from the roof top at night, you get to see one of the most beautiful hill station of India , “Mussorie”.

If you are not a localite from Dehradun, there are boys and girls dormitory, well yes, they do charge for that.

So, you need not worry about accommodation.

Food will be provided to you at a cost of 60 per meal.

And when you don’t want to have the meal inside the organization, you will have to inform the cooks prior to that.

Main tasks

The main tasks once you join the internship is you will have to make presentations on different acts passed by the Central and State Government.

Well, the language you may be asked to make presentation can be either Hindi or English.

In addition to this, you might be asked to present the same during a workshop conducted by the organization for the people of nearby villages or rural areas who are working for the well being of community.

Even, you might be asked to role for a play which makes the understanding of the concept easier for those volunteers who are working for the society.

You might be also taken to the field work such as to teach village students or help the people of rural areas to make them aware about their rights of which they are deprived of.

Environment

Each and every intern is given a seat in the library of the organization from where you have to work upon.

You are provided with a free WiFi, but only during the office hours.

You should bring laptop with you, if you don’t, you might be jobless for a while, though they provide you the Computer if any of the staff is on leave.

Staff of the RLEK is quite friendly and co-operative and helps you understand the work until and unless you have cleared all your doubts.

Not only the staff, but even the cooks are also very helpful. You can ask them what you want to eat for the Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

Moreover, if you are cricket lover, you will get an opportunity to play there, but yes, with the kids which will refresh your memories of your childhood.

Best things

The best thing of RLEK is that, in spite of being an NGO, you are not only stick to making presentations and giving presentations, you may even ask for a case file which you want to study and if any doubts, you can ask the head the institution, Mr. Awadesh Kaushal Sir.

So, basically, your overall personality is developed, you learn quite a lot, not only the clerical work but also the practical things an upcoming lawyer should have knowledge about.

Even, your creativity develops, you might be asked to prepare a script for any play and yes you would be the writer of the play and the actors too.

Overall, you enjoy a lot and yes, learn a lot too during your internship.

Bad things

The only bad thing about the internship is you don’t get stipend.

Biggest Lessons

The biggest lesson which I learnt is how the people of rural area suffer and to improve the same, each and every individual of the nation should make some contribution in any ways you want.

Well, if you love travelling, RLEK is the place you would like to go for your first internship.
