Pratiti is a part-time fellowship on gender based violence for young people, members of the LGBTQI community and sexual minorities in India, being launched by People for Parity Foundation (PfP), New Delhi, and supported by UN HABITAT and the Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation.
It is open for youth belonging to the ages of 18-30 in 5 Indian cities – Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal. Lucknow and Patna.
Pratiti has been designed as a journey, an opportunity and an experience, for young, diverse and passionate individuals who desire to explore, reflect, share and learn about gender-based violence in a warm and non-judgmental environment, which will nurture and transform them into empathetic leaders for gender equality.
Applicants can be from any background and representative of any color of the rainbow, including people who may be straight, gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgender, hijra, survivors or even sex workers.
20 participants will be selected in each city to become part of an experiential journey which will enable them to:
Become an empathetic leader for gender equality
Use sharing, healing and facilitation as powerful tools for change
Understand what gender-based violence is and how one can challenge it
The fellowship will take place between July-October 2015, and over the course of these 4 months, participants will involve themselves in:
A common launch event
An intense three-day workshop
Action projects on gender issues in their communit
Regular community meetings for reflection and sharing
A co-created closure and finale event which will celebrate the journey
30th June, 2015 is the application deadline for Delhi and Jaipur. Pratiti will not require full-time involvement from the participants nor any sort of expenditure from their side.
