Duration of Pepsico internship
3rd June – 28th June
Email an HR executive or apply online through the official website of PepsiCo.
Duration & Timings
5 days a week, 9 AM – 6.30 PM for four weeks. However, at times interns had to stay back longer in case there was more work.
Saturdays were off unless some big project was pending and you’d rather come to the office and finish it.
First impression, first day, formalities
First Day – As soon as the basic formalities were done, interns were introduced to all the lawyers of the Legal team, all of whom were pretty friendly. Thereafter, each intern was assigned a Senior Associate as mentor.
Interns had to do research/drafting work for their respective mentors. However, if they had finished the assigned tasks they were free to ask other advocates for more work.
All the interns also had the opportunity to meet Mr. V. R. Shankar, Executive Director of the PepsiCo Legal Department.
At the Pepsico internship, most of the work was research based. The research assignments covered a wide range of laws including Companies Act, 1956, FSSA 2006, Corporate Laws, Intellectual Property Rights etc.
However, interns at Pepsico were assigned very limited drafting work. At most interns would get the chance to draft notices, termination letters etc.
The good thing was that I was always busy with some work or the other, so on the whole I had a great experience.
At the end of the internships, interns were given grades on the basis of their performance. However, they were not disclosed and kept confidential. Certificates were given after the completion of internship.
Work environment, people
The work environment at Pepsico is a not same as that of a typical Corporate Law Firm. The work load is much less strenuous but challenging.
The legal team was really chilled out and helpful. Interns had the time to chat with most of the associates during lunch hours.
The best things AND the bad things
Best things – I learned the importance of working with speed through my internship at PespiCo. The long intellectual conversations with Mr. V.R. Shankar and free coffee/ tea anytime of the day were the best things.
Lunch buffet was available at Rs. 55/- everyday. Also, the entire legal team had lunch with the interns on the last day of internship.
Bad things – The only bad thing that I can think of is that on some days you might be assigned clerical work such organizing documents, making an index etc.
Oh! And the systems at Pepsico were pretty slow.
What did you to do chill?
The ambience of the office was great. Huge posters of Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor were a common sight.
All the employees had access to a coffee/tea machine which was actually blissful considering how cold it was in the office. Co-interns often chilled out during lunch.
The office was walking distance from Guru Dronacharya Metro Station. It is preferable to find accommodation in Gurgaon.Read More
