Well-known academician and the erstwhile registrar of NLU Delhi, Prof (Dr) Srikrishna Deva Rao, will be the new Vice-Chancellor of the National Law University (NLU), Odisha.
Rao would replace Prof Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi.
Prof Rao has a PhD degree in Law from the Delhi University and was the founding Director of School of Law, IGNOU and headed the institution from 2007 to 2010.
He has worked with four National Law Schools in India, NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, NLU Delhi and GNLU, Gandhinagar.
He was a consultant to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Swedish Development Cooperation (SDC), Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT), Child Rights and You (CRY) and Swedish National Science Foundation (SNSF).
His areas of specialisation include Criminal Law, Human Rights, Community Legal Education and Law, Science and Technology.
