NLU Delhi’s Post Grad Course on Victimology in Colab With Tokiwa International Victimology Institute, Japan [Aug 5-16]; Register by April 25

Maximum capacity of participants : Maximum capacity of the participants would be 45. This includes about 50% of participants from all over India and rest from other countries with a special focus on Asian countries. 
Course  Outline All classes will be conducted in English.The classes will be tentatively from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special events will include: a reception party, some institutional visits and a whole day trip to Taj Mahal at Agra (voluntary), a farewell party and a graduation ceremony. All selected students must attend the full two weeks course. Details (below) will be explained on the first day of the course (August 5). 
Eligibility and coverage  of the course The Asian Post Graduate course is designed mostly for persons with a Bachelor’s degree interested in Victimology/victims and persons currently engaged in victim advocacy, victim services or any other work with victims: social welfare, counseling, community policing etc.However, if we have space, we would accept persons who are in their last year of undergraduate studies.This course will provide a comprehensive curriculum of topics so that students will acquire the basic concepts, history, theories and current issues of victimology as well as models and practices of victim services.

 

Requirements to get a WSV Certificate To qualify and receive the WSV Certificate of Completion for the Asian Post Graduate Course, all students must:(1) Attend all the lectures provided and the field trips(2) If students miss any lecture because of illness or other valid emergencies, they must submit a one page report on each lecture they missed

(3) Students are required to prepare a 15 minute presentation of a proposal for a victim services project chosen by the student based on his/her interest approved by one of the course directors.

All students must attend all student presentations which will be made at the end of the course (15-16 August). (4) Students are also required to submit a typed paper of their project by 15 August (size 12 font, Times New Roman, double spaced, 5 pages).

 

Accommodation for the  participants : Separate independent units with a bed, study table, rack and one wardrobe to keep the belongings for each individual are available for students and other participants and there are provisions for common toilets and showers outside the individual rooms in the Transit Accommodation, Academic Block of NLU, Delhi in its Campus. 
Rent for accommodation for the participants : All participants/students who come to undergo the course will have to pay a rent of Rs. 500/- (USD 10.00 approximately) per day per participant.
Payment of Accommodation charges : All participants who intend to participate in the full course will have to pay the cost of accommodation [Totally it will cost Rs. 6,000/- (USD 115.00 approximately) for each participant] at the time of registration. 
Food arrangements : Surrounding the NLU, Delhi, we do not have restaurants for taking breakfast, lunch, dinner etc., for the participants.Therefore, NLU, Delhi will engage a caterer to provide the breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. for all the participants of the course during the entire programme in the campus only.The cost of breakfast, lunch and dinner is Rs. 500/- per participant per day and totally it will cost Rs. 6,000/- (USD 115.00 approximately) for 12 days. The participants will have to pay the cost of food for the entire programme in Indian rupees at the time of registration.

Visa for faculty and participants : The faculty and students who are coming from abroad will have to obtain an Indian Visa from the Indian Consulate/Embassy in their respective countries.The selected participants for the course will be sent required documents to enable them to apply for the Indian Visa.This must be done at least one month prior to departure as it can involve a lengthy administrative wait.

 

Location of NLU, Delhi : NLU, Delhi is around 18 K.M. away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and it is located very near to Metro Station of Sector-14 (the course venue).
