It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 6th Edition of the National Law School International Arbitration Moot (NLSIAM) and the 2nd National Law School of India Arbitration Conference (NLSIAC), on behalf of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, India.
The moot is tentatively scheduled from 11th-14th April, 2013.
Every year, we strive to raise the bar across the board. Last year, the 5th edition of NLSIAM, with support from the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Clifford Chance and Khaitan & Co., played host to international teams and arbitrators from across jurisdictions.
The problem revolved around the use and abuse of dispute resolution clauses in Bilateral Investment Treaties, with regard to Investor- State Arbitrations, Expropriation, among other issues. The Moot was won by the College of Law at the American University, Washington DC.
We also organized the 1st NLSIA Conference simultaneously, where we hosted experts from the field of international commercial arbitration. The discussions, centred on recent developments in the field of Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs), have been compiled and detailed as part of a consultative research paper.
In 2013, through the 6th Edition of the NLSIAM, and the 2nd edition of the NLSIAC, we will strive to uphold these standards of excellence. With expert arbitrators from across jurisdictions, and a challenging problem, we promise that this Moot and Conference would be an excellent opportunity for students to interact and exchange ideas.
