The LexisNexis-Lawctopus Summer Internship Writing Competition 2014: THE RESULTS ARE OUT!

Over the last 4 years of running Lawctopus.com, ‘internship experiences’ shared by our readers have been our forte.

We strongly believe that internships are the best way to ‘learn the law’; helping you not only to become a better professional but a better person too!

To further incentivize law students across India to write internship experiences that are more detailed and helpful and to encourage students with top-notch writing skills to write them, we partnered with LexisNexis to organize the The LexisNexis-Lawctopus Summer Internship Writing Competition 2014.

A big thank you to LexisNexis!

A big shout-out to the guys at MyLaw.net too, our learning partners for this competition!

Truckloads of thanks are due to our college managers, and of course all the ‘writers’, the ‘sharers’; people who took out time and wrote some of the best quality write-ups we’ve ever read!

A finally, our judges who had to go through 50,000+ words at a short-notiec; here are the two gentlemen we are highly indebted to!

THE JUDGES

protik daProtik Prokash Banerjee, one of the finest lawyers of the Kolkata High Court and well known to Lawctopus’ readers for his brilliant career advice pieces. Interning at his chambers is an experience of a life time. People who learn drafting and oratory skills from him swear by the excellent teacher he is. He talks about movies and literature as authoritatively as he talks on law and wrote on such subjects for the Economic Times in 1994-1995.

rounakRounak Nayak, 22 yrs, is a final year law student of SDM Law College, Mangalore. Inspired by the works of John Green and Nicholas Sparks, he started his blog and Facebook page named ‘The Diary of a Drunk Ass’ where he writes short stories that revolve around teen life and young adults. He has also contributed to two bestselling anthologies named ’21 Tales to Tell’ and ‘Chronicles of Urban Nomads’.

That’s it from us!

Note: Winners will be sent an email for their bank account and other details by the 10th of November. Prizes should reach you by the 30th of November.

Those who’ve won the ‘awards of excellence’ and the ‘consolation awards’ will be sent the break-up of their scores over email.

Note II: Why have none of these internship experiences been published?

Publishing internship experiences on Lawctopus requires a fair bit of formatting and search engine optimization.

We realized that we’ll not be able to publish all the 140+ internship experiences we got in the limited time span of this competition and hence decided not to publish any before announcing the results.

However, all the prize winning entries and all other ‘useful’ internship experiences which we received as a part of this competition will be published in the next 2 months!
