Lawctopus is Hiring an Event Manager Types Person; Apply by Feb 28

Starting March end, Lawctopus might/will be organizing physical meetings/events/get-togethers in and around Delhi.

It won’t be anything too serious (like a moot court) or anything too fun (like a party), but something in between [career Talks, Screening/discussing movies etc.]

We don’t intend to make a profit out of it. Nor will we be serving you biscuits and coffee for free.

Whether the events will be open to five or fifty students, we really don’t know.

What we know is we need a couple of people to help us make this work. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Deciding what type of event to do and ‘how’ and getting that done

2. Deciding the ‘where’ and getting that done (finding a venue, liasoning with them, book it etc.)

3. Getting the participants (marketing, managing the communications)

4. Managing other logistics (payments, tables & chairs, coffee and biscuits)

The position doesn’t have any remuneration.

However, you’ll be working on exciting things and meeting new people. 🙂

If you are interested, and are from the NCR please fill this form here.

The earlier you apply, the better your chances of getting in!

We’ll get back to you in early March.

  1. Hi,
If you could please answer the following :
Will all the different kind of work be handled by a single person?
Will persons from lawctopus be available for assistance for instance at the time of liasoning and getting participants?
And whether an unsuccessful task be looked down upon members of lawctopus or work against the applicant?
    Thanks!

      Hi,

The tasks are mentioned in the post. Basically ‘everything’, small and big, mundane and exciting.

Yes, we’ll be closely involved. We’ll be using the Lawctopus’ platform (website, facebook page, college managers) to the fullest extend to make this successful.

We’ll support you fully. If you are good and sincere, we’ll encourage failures 🙂

  2. No remuneration… then what’s the point?

      Hi Raj Kiran,

If you think slightly long term and with a broad-based view, you’ll find many ‘points’ to it:

      1. Connections: in 12 months, you’ll be meeting and closely interacting with 12-15 people who might in the future ‘recruit’ you (or introduce you to someone who can recruit you). What’s the value of one such connection?

      2. Skills/experiences: you’ll probably need no ‘certificate course’ in event management after this. You’ll grow as a person, both in terms of skill-sets and experiences.

BTW, in the first year of Lawctopus.com, it gave us no ‘remuneration’. We didn’t ask ‘what’s the point’ question then.
