Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) is looking for a passionate and dynamic Assistant Director to head the Training & Materials (T & M) Team.

What is the IDIA Training & Materials Team?

As IDIA strives to make legal education more ‘inclusive’ and increase ‘diversity’ within law schools and the legal profession, the IDIA Training & Materials Team plays a significant role by preparing all the raw material necessary to convert a bright child from an underprivileged community into a potential NLU entrant, and later, a leading lawyer.

In the past few years, the T & M team has prepared rigorous and scientific practice material for IDIA trainees.

These include aptitude tests (scientifically designed to pick kids with aptitude for the study of law, mock tests, worksheets, question banks etc). We have sub-teams, including divisions dedicated to one of the five subjects that are tested in CLAT/AILET – GK, English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Legal Reasoning.

So far the T & M team has been run by student team members only. This time round, we wish to scale up the functioning of this team and are looking for a new Assistant Director to do the same and consequently take IDIA to newer heights.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Create and supervise quality training materials for various projects at IDIA.

Create testing and set forth evaluation processes.

Ensure and supervise the creation of quality questions for the weekly test series as well as mock test series for law school entrance examinations.

Arrange, create, produce and distribute training-related material and facilities as and when required.

Organise, administrate and set up training programmes and events regularly.

Keep accurate training material records that are comprehensive and up-to-date.

Deal with enquiries relating to training and development.

Take on any other reasonable duties related to the role as directed by the Senior Management.

The applicant should have the following skill set:

Management of material resources, reading comprehension, active listening and learning, critical thinking, writing, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, troubleshooting, time management and operations analysis.

Have 1-2 years work experience in training of CLAT candidates or for other competitive examinations. (We prefer applicants with legal background though. Also, audio/visual mode training expertise would be advantageous.)

Should be a highly-motivated individual who does not need constant direction from an authority figure

Should be willing to work with and head a team of brilliant and enthusiastic young people from across different national law schools.

Should be tenacious and resourceful, and should think of innovative ways to get what you’re looking for.

Should be willing to take up work at a moment’s notice, and be efficient at managing time and reworking their schedule.

Should be prompt in responding to calls and email

Should be willing to make one full year’s commitment to IDIA

Salary:

Will be commensurate with skills and experience, and will be on par with similar positions in the non-profit sector.

Location:

Anywhere in India is acceptable, but it would be ideal if the person is located in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, or Kolkata.
