Anonymous

Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength

Trilegal, New Delhi, about 4 partners with at least 6-7 associates a team with the most being for the litigation team.

Application Process

As I was just going into my 3rd year so I applied through a reference.

Duration of internship and timings

I was allotted a 15 day internship. the timings were from 9:30- 6:30 , but it always extended to at least 8 if not more depending on the amount of work allotted.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The first impression was just amazing.

I had never been to a law firm before and then going inside the office of Trilegal Delhi was a surreal feeling altogether.

The office is beautiful.

It has four conference rooms which are always loaded with unlimited goodies and stationery.

They gave these Trilegal notepads , which some people believe they have a room full of them.

The first day I met this HR person who made me sign a confidentiality form, this task made me feel really important and I memorized it by heart as if my life depended on it.

The best part about its infrastructure are the coffee machines wherein you can take as much coffee or iced tea as you like.

Main tasks

Having attended only about 2 years of law school my tasks may not be as important to the firm as probably a 5th year interns but the best thing about Trilegal was that they treat the interns really well.

Some of my tasks included-

1. Getting this gazette notification from the gazette office of the year 1956 and then learning how to deal with the people in a government office.

2. Working on 2 due diligence projects one related to energy sector and the other for the power sector.

3. Helped associates in making presentations to the clients.

Work environment and people

The work environment was really amazing.

All the co-interns were really helpful and you could sense that there wasn’t so much work pressure as I had heard of in other firms thus even the associates were quite helpful.

Best things

1. Really warm environment

2. Free coffee

3. Located next to big chills which would deliver when you had to stay late at night, which obviously would be billed.

4. Amazing work

Bad things

I had expected that being a top law firm they would have an amazing collection of books, but was a little let down by it.

Stipend

As I went in through reference thus got no stipend.

But for 4 weeks its Rs.15000 and for 3 weeks its Rs.10,500.
