Duration of internship and timings
A four week internship from July 2016.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Day 1 began with stepping into the office where I found a humble guy sitting at the reception. As I told him about my joining as intern, he made my entry in the office register and directed me towards the Conference Room, where I waited for Ms. Rashmi Talukdar, whom I was supposed to report to.
I was familiarized by the office environment, rules and regulations, associates and other members of the office. I was given a separate desk with a computer and slowly and steadily I started interacting with the associates and got research based and case studies based work.
There is separate cubicle for interns. Office is quite spacious and a decent one.
Daily morning Coffee was the best way to start my heavy day. Though in the initial week, work load was less but slowly it started eating up even my lunch time.
Main tasks are to assist the associates in things like proof reading, drafting, finding cases, researching on topics.
Work environment and people
Associates were experienced and work oriented. Every person in the office were friendly enough to talk to. Well organised system of working as well as partying.
Best thing was the morning coffee and that the associates were amicable and had healthy relations with each other as well as with the partners. Also, the cafes and restaurants nearby the office were the reason my lunch time was worth waiting for.
There were no bad things as such. But one thing was that one day you will be overloaded with work and while at some time you will have free time to read news.
The biggest lessons were that work is your priority. I also developed my research skills to the extent that you need to understand not only your client’s arguments but also anticipating the probable defences other party could take. I myself had not studied Company Law in my college, so it was difficult to cope up.
The office is located at Ulsoor Road amongst big commercial buildings. The nearest residential area one could find was towards Cox Town or Frazer Town. Shivaji Nagar is another option, but in a city like Bangalore it is difficult to find a decent yet affordable Paying Guest.
I stayed at Frazer Town that was 2.5 KM from the office. One can easily get an OLA Share at affordable prices.

Usually an intern is supposed to reach latest by 10 and by 6.30 one can leave, subject to the completion of assigned work.
