The application process was a pretty sorted one but equally tough and rigorous. The Summer Internship Program form was to be filled with attached C.V.
These forms went through a rigorous process of scrutiny and what followed was the interview sessions. The shortlisted candidates were to sit for an interview on the date mentioned by the organisation and thus the final list was prepared.
Duration of internship and timings
In the confirmation letter by the organisation it was mentioned that minimum of 8-10 weeks of internship was mandatory and a confirmation letter from the college was also a need.
The timings mostly are from 10-5 but as mine was a research project the head of the branch allowed me lesser hours in the office and carry the files home for better research.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
For India’s biggest banking corporation the first day gave me chills but unlike my apprehensions the officials were amicable and helpful.
I was told to report to the Law Manager who gave me a brief introduction of my internship process and gave me my research topic.
The infrastructure was not so lavishly built but pretty decent and good working environment.
I was given a research project to study a few cases for the bank and submit a report for the same.
Work environment and people
The working environment is fair enough with amicable people much elder in age though.
The best part about SBI was that I stepped into the real world dealing with cases and for a student who just stepped into law it was the first outer world experience.
