Office of Judge, Kerala High Court, 1 Personal Secretary, 2 Assistants and 4 as court officers.

Application Process

I talked with Personal Secretary to Judge directly and on her direction I sent my application with inclusion of exact duration of Internship to the Lordship through his Personal Secretary.

Duration of internship and timings

I have applied there for 2 weeks from

1st January, 2016 to 15th January, 2016.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day, I went to office and met with PS to Judge in the office of Judge and that time I got a positive response from PS and she was very happy to met with me and my companions I.e., Deepak Kumar & Lavlesh Kumar.

On first day I with my companions presented myself and got the letter of Internship from PS to Judge with inclusion of duration.

There is no doubt in regards of infrastructure, because it was the Chamber of Judge of High Court. Really, awesome infrastructure.

Main tasks

That was my first chance to be a intern in the office of Judge of any High Court but on the first day itself Sir assigned me a research work in regards of a case of a blind but we’ll educated person. Instead of this I also worked for the judgement corrections i.e., grammatical errors and also analysed the judgments.

Therefore the main tasks are of research works on the disputed cases before the court of my Sir.

Work environment and people

The work environment of office was awesome because Sir also allowed me to use his computer and printer for the purpose of my research work because I did not have laptop. PS to Sir was also too friendly in nature and she helped me in completion of my tasks given by Sir and also assigned me the judgments for corrections.

The other officers in the office of Sir were also too good and supported me a lot in regards of attended the Court proceedings and also aware me about the environment of the Hon’ble High Court.

Best things

The best things were that I got lots of information from Sir in regards of foreign education or LLM from outside India.

I got a permission from Sir to attend a International Workshop on Restorative Justice and various Programs in Kerala Bar Association Hall.

Bad things

I think that nothing was bad during my internship except one thing that was language problem because I don’t know Malayalam.

Stipend

None

Any Other Thing

The other things are that I got one more internship experience and I was too happy at that time because that was the result of my hard work because I couldn’t imagine that even after having no legal background, could it possible to reach on this stage.

At last I am very thankful to God and Sir both to provide me this awesome opportunity.
