First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure

Well, on the first day I was made to sit in the conference room in the basement and given a form to fill, a worksheet which you should fill every day and write the work you did for the day.

HR briefs you about the working of the office. Soon after I was made to meet the partner and the associate I was assigned to.

Neeraj Associates Law Firm is located in Gomti Nagar, Vishal Khand-II which is a prime location in Lucknow.

Office is attached with the resident of the Managing Partner (Adv. Neeraj Kumar), providing 1st floor and the basement floor, where all the interns were given a separate cubical.

First day there is general introduction with Mr. Rishi Saxena and the fellow interns.

He will be checking your resume and may tell you any errors if found and then he would be allotting you work as per your interest.

Interns are supposed to give there photographs for court passes and application form.

Carry your own laptops and mark your attendance!

Main Tasks

Internship at Neeraj Associates made me seriously think about my career in litigation, I was required to assist Adv. Neeraj Kumar and was scared but Mr Neeraj is a very humble and soft spoken gentleman carrying lots of knowledge.

Main tasks included reading and analyzing files, court visits, some other administrative job. There was a lot of learning there.

Main work given to the interns is research work (finding case laws mostly), drafting rejoinders along with clerical work like making indices and marking page numbers.

If you want you can get a lot of work. It depends on how much work you can do and are willing to do. You cannot be seen sitting idle.

He used to teach me and other interns like a professor at times! He used to tell me how to go through cases and device a solution.

In a way the whole internship tasks were quite good.

Work Environment and People

The work environment is pretty good.

Everyone minds their own business and there ain’t anytime for anyone to have a chit-chat with interns (Don’t worry they will not be bullying you).

People are friendly and helpful.

P.S – Interns office is equipped with 3 cameras and half of the time we use to doubt that it really works or not!

Best Things

Neeraj Sir’s personal interaction at every alternate days with interns was too good, he will be literally clearing your doubts on C.R.P.C and C.P.C and which is quite useful.

Besides that location of the firm is quite good, you get to visit many city malls, food joints, city marine drive and other places to roam around.

Bad Things

Weather! It was too humid and too hot make a proper arrangement if you live far by.

Biggest Lessons

I was neither in Law nor in Love till I interned over here!

But now I’m in Law!!

Any Other Thing

All Law Students, especially from Lucknow should surely enjoy this workplace once.

It’s a good internship experience.
