How big was the office? Team strength?

The office was a big hall divided into 15 chambers for senior advocates who conduct the proceedings.

There was not a specific strength at a certain point of time. The Advocates came to the office as according to the type of cases that were reported.

Application procedure. Internship contact details

The application procedure is quite simple.

The student just have to get a recommendation letter from his college authority and has to submit it to AHCMCC in-charge along with a application. Then, the clerk appointed there will confirms the student about his/her joining date. There is no interview and no preferences for any specific student.

Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings

Generally, one week is enough in Mediation center but if the student wants to continue it can extent to one more week.

The proceeding normally starts just after the Lunch and the office closes at 8 PM.

The students internship is counted on the basis of the number of cases attended each day. If he finishes the enough of cases, he may leave at any time. No bondage.

Accommodation: how, where, how was it?

The AHCMCC provides no accommodation for the interns.

First impression. First day, formalities etc.

Being a law student the Advocates want all their interns to be in full uniform. This requirement depends upon the Advocates, some would not even bother but some would ask for this but it would be best for the interns to be in their proper uniform.

Main tasks

The interns were asked to join any chamber where proceedings are being carried on.

The interns should have their notebook to note down the case name and other important details of the case attended.

At the end of the internship period the intern has to prepare a file/project work which contain the details of the cases attended.

Work environment, people

Every intern has to first report to the in-charge and then immediately enter any chamber.

The Mediation and Conciliation center is silent and witnessed no disturbance during the proceedings. Also, there was no pressure on the parties, interns and the advocates as well.

The toffees and candies were served to the parties interns and the advocates as well.

Best things?

The best thing about the mediation center is its proceedings. Both the party are given equal opportunity i.e. firstly both the party are heard together and after this one party at a time is heard.

Bad things?

The bad thing was the duration. Too short to have enough of cases in hand.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues

Actually there was no time to have enough of chit chat with the co interns.

Stipend/ month

No Stipend was provided
