FIRST IMPRESSION, FIRST DAY FORMALITIES, INFRASTRUCTURE

It’s  a renowned institute in the city of Lucknow owing to the dignity it holds i.e. providing judicial training to the newly appointed judges !

On our first day, we were truly fascinated with the infrastructure, the big gate, the ambassadors( with the blue and red beacons), this place was perfect for motivating a person into judicial services, the charismatic position it holds!

The institute has a huge library containing all the law books, journals, AIRs etc and even the fictions as well. For a nerd, it was just the perfect place.

One would hardly find people there because everyone is busy doing there part of the judicial work, be it a clerk or the director himself . It’s a three storied building and has a beautiful garden.

On the first day we met our guide, Mr. Rajiv Bharti who is the Additional Director (Training) at JTRI and the introduction was formal.

MAIN TASKS

We were allotted our topics on the first day on which we had to make research paper.

Sir gave us choices as an on which field we would like to make the research paper i.e. criminal, constitutional, civil etc.

It was on our discretion and if worthy enough one could make the paper on one’s own choice and for those skeptical heads, sir did his part of the job.

My topic was: PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM SEXUAL OFFENCES ACT,2013.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PEOPLE

All I had at JTRI to be called as “people” was my guide, my 2 other friends, some clerks which told us only about the whereabouts of our guide besides the librarian. We spent our time in the library searching for all the necessary stuff.

We had to give work progress report on a regular basis, our guide was kind enough to tell the flaws in our paper and enlighten us with the  recent case laws.

BEST THINGS

I got to know so much about the POCSO Act, the protection it provides to the child who suffers the sexual assaults in silence, the importance it holds in wiping out all those monsters out there.

Besides my project, the best things were the blue and red beacons, the library and the infrastructure. They were just awesome and inspiring ! And not to forget the “JTRI certificate” we got, it was just the right thing to show off

BAD THINGS

Despite the internship being research based, we had to report on a daily basis and waste our time in the library after having find out the relevant matter till 2:00 PM.

We had to wait for hours for our guide to turn up in his cabin and look into our work. We really had to struggle to get people to answer our queries.
