Accommodation: how, where, how was it?

I stayed at my place, no accommodation as such taken but there is availability of PGs nearby and commute is easy as there is a metro station nearby only.

First impression. First day, formalities etc.

On the first day the reception was fairly warm and responsive and soon I was put through to the office manager who told me the basic timings and all and then I met one of the partners.

He told me the type of work usually handles by the firm and later I was shown my desk in the Associates’ room.

Main tasks

I being a third year was not given any major assignments to be handled alone.

But there was a lot of research work given on the New companies Act and I made a lot of related memos and presentations.

Also, research on tax laws, CSR and making due diligence were usually the task given. I also directly dealt with the client twice on the assignments I dealt with.

 Work environment, people

The work environment was not stressful at all and there were no strict deadlines given usually.

 Best things?

The best things would be a bit relaxed attitude about the timings, the pantry in the office campus only and a great library.

Bad things?

There were times when there was absolutely no work given as the number of interns were more in comparison to the work there.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues

There was no place in the vicinity to go out so we sometimes ordered lunch from outside with the associates and the internet there had great speed which helped when we did not have work.

Stipend/month

No stipend

Anything else you’d like to tell; Biggest lessons

Try to talk to the associates there as you will have to ask for work repeatedly in the beginning and only then some will come to your way.

Also, it will be beneficial if you intern there after your 3rd year.
