The office was very roomy and the best environment to learn and work.

Lakshmi Kumaran and Sridharna is the best law firm to any aspirant who wants to make their career in the field of taxation (more specifically indirect taxation).

They also have offices at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.

Duration of internship

2nd January-31st January

Application procedure? Internship Contact Details

As any other internship, resume must be sent to the HR department in the mail id: [email protected].

A mail of Offer of internship will be sent if selected.

Be patient, LKS really takes two-three months to reply on the offer, so it is better to apply well in advance keeping in mind the internship period.

Duration in weeks. Days of work per week. Timings.

It is six days a week but 2nd and 4th Saturdays are holiday. Timings are quite good here i.e from 9:00 or 9:30 am to 7:30 pm. They really insist you to leave by 7:30 pm.

First impression, first day, formalities

The best firm I have interned so far. There were not much formalities on the first day.

One of the associates will brief you on what must be done during internship.

Generally, the internship period is for 4 weeks.

Each week you have to work under different departments (you can choose on the departments. I interned under service tax, central excise and customs).

After choosing the departments, you will be asked to report to a mentor who will give you a broad idea on the department you will be working under. For the whole week or time you wish to stay in the department you have to report all your work to the mentor.

Main tasks

I was conferred with the task to make Power point presentations, a compendium on the changes that has taken place in tax regime, summary of case laws on particular subjects and most importantly they will really give time to read each and every provision of law in which you are asked to work and you can feel free to ask questions to the mentor regarding the same.

On the final day of your internship you will asked to do a PPT on any law subject.

Work environment, people

The work environment cannot be any better.

The Partners and associates at Lakshmi Kumaran and Sridharan will treat you like an employee and they make sure that you gain maximum knowledge on indirect taxation during the internship.

The best things AND the bad things

The best thing is that you will never feel that you are working in a [snobby] top tier law firm and they will recognise your work.

I cannot think of any bad things except waiting for the offer of internship.

Stipend/month

4000/- per month

Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?

The office is very near to Malleshwaram and new Bel road where you can find umpteen PGs and hostels. There is no problem for food as there is a canteen above the office building.

Oh Wait! forgot to mention that the office is situated in the massive and prestigious building of brigade gateway, which is adjacent to ORION mall.

Does LKS Attorneys good for CA- Articleship ? What kind of assignments they offer during the training period ?
Please revert as soon as possible.

  2. Interestedintern says:

    Hi

Can you tell me if it is a good idea for 2-3rd years to intern if they got the opportunity via personal relations?
Can you elaborate more on the nature of work, drafting and litigation experience?
Also, i have heard that they most practice tax and not corporate and IPR. How valid are the claims?

  3. are you sure about the salary for associates

  4. R_Prabhakar says:

Hey, nice experience. Thanks for sharing. Do you, by any chance, know the starting salary they pay to associates?

  5. Sudeshna says:

L&S, Bangalore gives stipend irrespective of any personal relations. We were almost eleven interns in L&S Bangalore in the month of December-January 2013 who were given stipend( 4k). It is probably the Delhi office which does not pay, though I m not too sure about it.

  6. Enakshi says:

This is to inform everyone that L&S does not gives any stipend to its interns. It may be possible in any one case because of personal relations, if paid. My friends have interned in almost all the offices of L&S and have not got any stipend even when they were in the 5th year. Although the work environment is not bad.
