First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The first impression at the office was full of enthusiasm but still in some corner of my heart I was quiet nervous too as it was first internship at the Supreme Court and that too under a very big name of the apex court.

On the very first day, I reached the office and met Ms. Aishwarya Bhati, with whom I had a formal introduction and after that I was assigned the work in the office and was also introduced to the other associates in the office.

Main tasks

The main task at this internship was to search the case laws or any legal point on any particular matter. Every day a file was given and we need to brief that after having a careful study of that file. Also we were given some drafting work where we need to draft the affidavits, written statements and counter affidavits.

We also went to visit the court proceedings and had also witnessed many landmark cases in the Supreme Court.

Work environment and people

The work environment was very good. There were around 6-7 associates at the office and all of them were very helpful and kind towards the interns. We were free to reach them for any doubts that we had in our work.

Best things

The best part of this internship was the landmark judgment given by the Supreme Court in the favor of the Ma’am. It was related to a woman issue and it was a victory moment for us also as we also got a chance to contribute in the proceedings of that case. Also I witnessed the 9 judge bench of the Supreme Court during this internship.

Bad things

No bad things as such on this internship.

Biggest Lessons

The biggest lesson that I learnt was that always be positive, no matter whatever the situation is or whatever the circumstances are. If you are positive then, you will achieve all you want.
