Name. College. Year of Study
Anisha, HNLU Raipur
Name of the organization. City
The name of the firm in A&A Law Office, New Delhi and their complete address in given at www.aaalaw.in.
Duration of the internship
I had interned at the firm for a period of one month (8th June to 8th July).
How big was the office? Team strength?
The office is not very big but it’s a decent office with three chambers, one meeting hall, conference room and a common chamber where the interns work with the associates.
The complete detail of the team strength can be sought from their website.
Application procedure. Internship contact details
The application procedure is very simple.
One has to send his/her CV at the mail address given on the main site of the firm and their response is very quick (you can expect the response within a day or two) and there is need for a follow up on phone (which has also been mentioned on their website)
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings
The firm works for 5 days a week from Monday to Friday from 10 or 10:30 to 6:30 or 7 in the evening. The timings are flexible though.
However work can expected on Saturdays depending on the whether the work is urgent or not.
The associates as well as the partners are very chill. They will never overburden you with any work.
But yes one must note that they are serious about the deadlines and the quality of work. They really appreciate sincerity and honesty towards your work.
Accommodation: how, where, how was it?
The office is situated at R block, GK 1 and therefore there are number of PGs available.
Also the Kailash colony metro station is at near by, so people staying at far places need not worry.
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
There are no as such first day formalities. The associate who confirmed my internship was Mr. M Abhijnan.
He is one friendly associate who had introduced me to the staff and the partners of the firm. I was given a separate laptop to do my work.
The firm specializes in both corporate as well as IP work, so the work mainly assigned to you is research on various legal issues, finding of the case laws, researching of new corporate regulations and rules etc. but I can assure you, that they will ensure that you won’t sit idle.
Work environment, people
The work environment is normal. Though they take their work very seriously, but all work and no play is not their policy.
The associates and the partners are very friendly in nature. They will treat you as if you are one of the associate of the firm.
So you can approach them any time with any difficulty and they will always be ready to help you out even with your silliest queries.
The best thing about this firm is that every person in the firm treats you very nicely.
I have heard many stories from my friends about their associates and senior partners grilling them during their internship, which thankfully I haven’t experienced here.
As stated above, they would never overburden you with work however they emphasize on the quality of the work.
Actually I had interned there during the vacations of the Courts, so not much work was assigned to me. So I would suggest that approach the firm (not only this one but other firms too) when the Courts at Delhi are working.
What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues
Unfortunately, as stated, I interned during the vacation of Courts, so I had no co-interns. But there are places like the S-Block park, M Block market around to chill.
Actually they did not mention about any kind of stipend, but at the end of Internship, on the last day (surprisingly) I was actually paid by the managing partner of the firm.
Though this is a small size but they do appreciate your honesty and sincerity towards any and every kind of work given to you. (So just a small tip if you want to impress them, be honest and sincere)
Anything else you’d like to tell
To be very frank, I was skeptical about how the internship will be at this firm, because it is a recent firm. But after completing my internship, I can seriously say that I was proved wrong.
Though it’s a small firm, but its only at such firms that you can gain true knowledge. It was one of my most productive internships and I would recommend this firm to those who are willing to learn.
The biggest lesson I learnt here is that no work is small or big, its your willingness and your persistent nature that will be assessed.
They won’t judge you upon your GPA but quality in your work (repeating again- honesty and sincerity).
