IDIA Announces its Internship Program- Educate the Underpriveleged, Help Legal Education

The Hyderabad Chapter of IDIA (increasing diversity by increasing access to legal education), a project conceptualized and initiated by Prof. Shamnad Basheer of NUJS has launched its internship program, as covered on the IDIA blog.

The IDIA project aims to help students from poor and disadvantaged regions of India by providing them with career guidance on law and helping them with CLAT related preparations.

The detailed concept note on IDIA and the LegallyIndia news coverage should tell you what IDIA is all about.

The internship which is meant for law students throughout the country would entail taking classes for the IDIA scholars (students from the disadvantaged backgrounds) on CLAT subjects.

It must be noted that IDIA Hyderabad has conducted sensitization programs and aptitude tests for the disabled students at Sai Junior College founded by the Devnar Foundation for the Blind and teaching these students should be, as the IDIA blog post puts it, “a self discovery”.

Minimum duration of internship– 4 weeks

Place– Hyderabad.

Time slots– November and December.

On successful completion of the internship, the interns will be given certificates by Prof. Basheer on behalf of IDIA.

Anusha Reddy, a 2nd year student at NUJS is heading the chapter and can be reached at [email protected] on email. The contact numbers are 09163787987 and 09163787994.
