SC directs Bar Councils to conclude all ‘verification’ proceedings before 30 June; Delhi Bar Council extends last date to June 6 By: Ashok KM | May 16, 2016

As per the directions of the Supreme Court to weed out fake Advocates Bar Council of India is issuing letters to all Bar Councils and all Bar Councils are issuing letter to complete the verification of certificate of practice by 30-6-2016. Advocates are feeling as the said certificate of practice is valid for 5 years. If an Advocate is unable to renew within the prescribed time limit, the said Advocate’s name will be in the Non-Practicing Advocates list.

Now the issue will be “Who is a practicing Advocate and Non-Practicing Advocate or Fake Advocate?” Whether the term practicing Advocate means practice is limited to mere appearing before Civil and Criminal Courts alone are covering all branches of law being in force. More discussions are required.

Young Law Students and Interns are suggested to be more careful about your future because of latest developments. While studying your law course don’t use the word as Advocate. Even after completion of your law course either 5 or 3 years, concentrate on joining the distance education courses like P.G. and M.Phil/Ph.D being offered by the institutions like IGNOU which are affordable to all. And also concentrate more on learning computer skills as well as joining latest communication and information technology courses.

Think for a while what is your future after 5 to 10 years. If you are unable to succeed in legal profession what is the best alternative? to keep on your toes and to lead decent and comfortable life. By taking right decision at the right time you will save your precious life, time and money.

Many, many latest diploma courses being offered by reputed Law Universities/Colleges/Schools are useful to the Advocates to practice at the Trial Courts? or we have appropriate Courts at district level? or they have to go for a job? or they have to migrate to New Delhi or Metros or State Capitals? Whether our corporate sector conducted any genuine research on this also debatable.

Young law students are suggested to follow the above Order being passed by our Supreme Court and take steps accordingly to mould your life in an optimistic manner. The tussle will whether I am fit for this legal profession or not? this tussle may arise in future within you. So, be careful.

  2. Hello, I have already enrolled my registration for this Course. However I have one query…
Where can I get all the Study Material for this particular Course? Is FICCI going to mail all those
study material or I have to get it online? Kindly reply..

  3. E S Jagadeeshwar says:

Why FICCI is not giving any concession to the young Advocates, particularly practicing at the Trial Courts?

  4. Rishabh Yadav says:

I am trying to register for the online course on Competition Law & IPR (IP Comp) since last 10-12 days but the web page is not opening. I have tried for the same from Lawctopus as well as from the FICCI’s official website, but the result is same. I just spoke to some concerned person at FICCI a couple of minutes back and he asked me to mail the screen-shot of the same. Is there anyone who has registered for the course?

    • administrator says:

This is a genuine course. We are in touch with FICCI (they are advertising on Lawctopus).

For tech/website related issues, please contact FICCI directly.

  5. Sakshi Gupta says:

Is the course offered by FICCI authentic? As I could not find any link or notice about the same on the official website of FICCI. Instead there is another site which mentions the details of the said course. I even left the same query on that site which mentions the course details but there was no response to the query.
