2nd NALSAR Quiz Festival Interrobang [Jan 17-18]: Rs. 1 Lakh Prize Money

The NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, takes great pleasure in inviting you to Interrobang, the second edition of the NALSAR Quiz Festival on the 17th and 18th of January, 2015.  After a highly successful edition last year, Interrobang is back with more quizzes, high profile quizmasters and prize money in excess of Rs. 1 lakh. All quizzes will be held at our campus in Shamirpet, Hyderabad.

This year, the quizzes that will be held include:

The General Quiz:

The standard format of quizzing, which is revered worldwide. This quiz tests absolutely everything about our world, ranging from pop culture to history to geography and much more.

Quizmaster: Vikram Joshi, winner of the World Quizzing Championship 2014 will be hosting this quiz. No stranger to quizzers across the circuit, he has won several open quizzes in the country over the past few years including the Landmark Quiz and was also a featured panelist of the Kaun Banega Crorepati Triguni earlier this year.

Prize Money:  ₹15,000, ₹12,000 and ₹ 9,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. ₹900 each for teams finishing 4th, 5th and 6th.

The SpEnt (Sports and Entertainment) Quiz:

As the name suggests, this is aimed at the Entertainment and Sports crowd. This quiz covers various facets of entertainment such as movies, television, music, etc., apart from multiple sports.

Quizmaster: The SpEnt Quiz will be prepared and conducted by the Core Committee of Interrobang.

Prize Money: ₹9,000, ₹6,000 and ₹3,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. ₹900 each for teams finishing 4th, 5th and 6th.

The BizTech Quiz:

This quiz covers business and technology, which is an indispensible part of our lives.  This quiz will test people on their knowledge regarding the latest happenings in the world of business and technology.

Quizmasters: Sachin Ravi and Raghav Chakravarthy of Walnut Knowledge Solutions, Bangalore will be preparing and hosting this quiz. Representing Symbiosis Law School, they were the National Winners of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz in 2012 and Sachin was also the winner of the International final in the subsequent 2013 edition.

Together, they’ve won several business, technology and general quizzes such as the Rajagiri National Business Quiz, IIT Bombay Techfest, NTPC Electron Business Quiz, TAPMI Manipal’s Business Quiz, etc. They also have a great deal of experience in conducting quizzes across the country

The India Quiz:

No Quiz Festival is complete without a separate quiz for our very own country. This quiz will cover everything about India, from the pre-independence era to the modern age, posing questions about Indian history, culture, food and other things.

Quizmaster: This quiz will be prepared and conducted by Abdaal Akhtar, an prolific quizzer from NALSAR’s Batch of 2013 who has won several quizzes such as the K Circle India Quiz in two separate editions.

Prize Money: ₹9,000, ₹6,000 and ₹3,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. ₹900 each for teams finishing 4th, 5th and 6th

The Lone Wolf Quiz:

A solo quiz for the daring. In the absence of any support, this quiz is the ultimate test for an individual, and checks their capability to perform when they have no one for help.

Quizmasters: The Lone Wolf Quiz will be prepared and conducted by the Core Committee of Interrobang.

Prize Money: ₹5,000, ₹3,000 and ₹2,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. ₹300 each for finalists (4th-8th place).

Rules and Regulations

Rules, Regulations and Eligibility Criteria:

Teams should consist of THREE members or less, with the exception of the Lone Wolf Quiz which is solo.

Cross-college teams ARE allowed.

The quiz is open to students pursuing full-time degrees from institutes that are affiliated to universities or are universities themselves.

The quizzes are only for those doing their undergraduate degrees (this includes those enrolled in integrated Masters/PhDs) and postgraduate students born after January 17th, 1987.

It is NOT open for teams from courses run by professional associations such as ICAI, ICSI etc. This list is merely indicative and NOT exhaustive.

Participants pursuing degrees through distance mode learning are NOT eligible.

Participants pursuing Diploma courses are NOT eligible.

School/junior college students will be allowed to take part, on request.

Registration and Accommodation

Registration can be done by sending in the name of the college, team members, and contact number for the team to [email protected]

On the spot registration can also be done.

There is no last date for registration – we accept registrations until the day of the quiz, at the venue.

If accommodation is sought, teams should inform the organizers by sending a mail to [email protected] at least 10 days before the quizzes.

The cost of accommodation will be nominal and shall be intimated to the teams after receiving the mail.

Transport will be provided on both days of the QuizFest from the city till the campus and back.

The registration fee at each of the 5 quizzes will be Rs.30/- per head.
